Aka to pinku mo sukidesu

“to”

In Japanese, the particle “to” has additional functions when used with nouns. It can mean “and” or “with” in English. However, it is important to note that “with” in this context is not used in the same way as in English. It cannot be used to indicate tools or instruments, but is mainly used to express “together with” someone or animals.

And

kuro to shiro (black and white)
omote to ura (front and back)
sakana to yasai ga sukidesu (I like fish and vegetables.)

with

Kanojo to deeto shimasu. (I am dating my girlfriend.)
Tomodachi to ryokou shimasu. (I travel with my friend.)
Uma to isshoni shashin o torimasu. (I take a picture with a horse.)

“to” is sometimes used in the phrase “to isshoni” to emphasize doing something together with someone.

“mo”

“mo” in Japanese has several functions, but here we will focus on one of its additional functions. In English, this is expressed as “also”. “mo” is used to add information, indicating that the same statement applies to multiple subjects or objects.
It’s important to note that before “mo”, there is usually a premise or prior statement. “mo” adds to this premise, showing that the additional subject or object shares the same attribute or action mentioned before.

Kinou wa biiru o nomimashita. Wain mo nomimashita. (I drank beer yesterday, also drank wine.)
Kinou wa jimu ni itte, eiga mo mimashita. (I went to the gym yesterday and also watched movies.)
Firipin de mo eigo ga tsuujimasu. (In also the Philippines, English is used.)
Natsuyasumi wa tai no bankoku ni ikimasu. Puuketto ni mo ikimasu. (In summer vacation, I go to Bangkok, also to Phuket.)
