Affirmative

anzen >>> anzende
seiketsu >>> seiketsude
gakusei >>> gakuseide
ikemen >>> ikemende

Simply add “de” after nouns or noun-adjectives to form their te-form.

Negative

anzen >>> anzen janakute
seiketsu >>> seiketsu janakute
gakusei >>> gakusei janakute
ikemen >>> ikemen janakute

Add “janakute” after nouns or noun-adjectives to form their te-form.

How to use

Its main function is primarily to connect sentences and list items. When used with noun-adjectives, it also expresses reasons for subsequent actions.

Kare wa ikemende yasashiidesu. (listing)
Koko wa anzende seiketsudesu. (listing)
