Using i-Adjectives as Modifiers
Simple affirmative
To modify a noun using an i-adjective in its affirmative form, you simply place the i-adjective directly before the noun.
yasashii hito = kind person
omoshiroi eiga = funny movie
takai biru = tall building
kawaii inu = cute dog
Simple negative
To modify a noun using an i-adjective in its negative form, you replace the final “i” with “kunai” and then place it before the noun. “…kunai” is the short negative form of i-adjective.
yasashikunai hito = unkind person
omoshirokunai eiga = not a funny movie
takakunai biru = not a tall bulding
kawaikunai inu = not a cute dog
