Shizukani shite kudasai

In Japanese, adjectives can be converted into adverbs, which are used to modify verbs, other adjectives, or adverbs. The method for this transformation depends on whether the adjective is an i-adjective or a noun-adjective.

i-adjective → adverb

Change the last “i” to “ku”, then you get an adverb.

yasashii (gentle) → yasashiku (gently)
amai (sweet) → amaku (sweetly)
oishii (delicious) → oishiku (deliciously)

Noun-adjective → adverb

Add “ni” after noun-adjective, then you get an adverb.

shizuka (quiet) → shizukani (quietly)
kantan (easy) → kantanni (easily)
raku (comfortable) → rakuni (comfortably)
suki (like) → sukini (as you like)

Expression

Shizukana basho ga sukidesu. – I like a quiet place.
Shizukani shite kudasai. – Be quiet, please.
Amai koohii o nomimasu. – I drink sweet coffee.
