…soudesu

“sou” is the word for “seem” and “uncertain”. There are 2 roles.

  1. I heard it from someone and knew it.
  2. I saw by myself and felt it, but not sure about it.

Here you learn No.1 to express things that you heard from someone and tell it to somebody.

How to use

“sou” is a kind of noun, so add short forms before “soudesu”.
Say statements in short forms and add “soudesu” which means “seems like” or uncertain.
Statements are uncertain and it is the things that you heard from someone.

Expression

Nanika ga okoru soudesu. (They say that something happens.)
Oishii soidesu. (They say it’s delicious.)
Shizukada soduesu. (They say that it is calm.)
Kare wa gakuseida soudesu. (They say that he is a student.)
Nanimo okoranai soudesu. (They say that nothing happens.)
Oishikunai soudesu. (They say that it does not taste good.)
Shizukajanai soudesu. (They say that it is not calm.)
Gakuseijanai soudesu. (They say that he is not a student.)
